Smart guy’s way to self-improvement.

Golden rule of life – Always seek to become better in your life. Educate yourself independently as it will better your life.

I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.

– Mark Twan

This is no bold statement ,You, like many other people (including me) did, can really develop your personality, specialization, skills or just increase Knowledge by educating themselves.

Firstly make a commitment to put into action newly learned theories. You won’t achieve anything by gathering only information. To achieve more, earn more and be better in something you must take action and put everything into reality.
Secondly, choose your source of knowledge. Here are some:
Books. The oldest form of stored knowledge that you can use. There is no field of life that is not covered by a book. Books are particularly cheap, easily accessible and are yours forever if you protect them.

Additionally if you can’t afford buying books there are always libraries. I recommend to visit your local library, get to know this community site. You’ll be surprised by selection of books and they’re FREE! (At least in my country’s libraries).
Audiobooks. If you live fast paced life and travel a lot (consider commuting to work as traveling too) audiobooks are for you. You can listen to them anywhere.

For example, if you spend a lot of time commuting it is very beneficial to listen to audiobooks in your car or with your headphones as you walk.

Most of the time they are not free, consider that you improve yourself as you waste time behind the car wheel. It will pay off by improving your theoretical knowledge that you can put into practise. If you don’t know where to get them just google ”Audiobooks”, plenty websites to choose from.

Internet. I don’t have to explain this too much. Google and other search engines are your friends. You write how to do something or how to become better in something and you get the answers. Plain and simple.
Conferences and seminars. I am not experienced with this yet. I have my plans to attend few seminars (I will write how it went) and see how it will go. Conferences and seminars are pretty awesome thing, I’ve read in many self-improvement books about them, they are very beneficial to you.

You get to meet people that are specialized in same field. But they can be quite expensive, though. Conferences might also have restrictions like being specialized in particular field.

Seminars, on the other hand, is like school classes, except you don’t waste time on useless and boring information and you might even get to do practical things (depends on seminar).
Others. You will be surprised how many people will gladly share their knowledge with you if you ask them in a friendly and polite manner.

First thing you must do when you see someone better than you is to honestly admit to yourself. Don’t oppose those that are better, learn from them. It is not a bad thing to ask for colleagues advice or send and email to a site owner that you admire.

You won’t lose anything by doing this. You will only increase your chances of getting positive answer and becoming better in something.

This much for now. If you have more to share feel free to leave a comment on how you better yourself.
