Top 10 Biography Books (Part 2)

And here’s part two, hopefully you enjoyed part one and can’t wait to see my all-time favourite 5!

5) Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose – Tony Hsieh

This is a surprisingly, remarkable book! I have to admit when I first came across this Book I wasn’t expecting it to great, probably as I hadn’t heard of Zappos. However, once you’re a few chapters deep you will have to read the rest. It’s one of those books you have to finish and that’s why it’s number five on my all-time favourite biography books!

4) Losing My Virginity – Richard Branson

What can I say about Richard that hasn’t already been said? For anyone who’s interested in becoming an entrepreneur or already is one, read this book. It is a long one, but unlike Warren Buffett’s biography this held my attention all the way through. Richard has had an interesting life and I still can’t quite believe all the stuff he’s accomplished. Invest your money and time, read this book.

3) Sam Walton: Made in America My Story – Sam Walton and John Huey

More of an American entrepreneur as Wal-Mart only recently acquired ASDA in the UK, but an intriguing read none the less.

Sam tells how he built his small business into an empire which dominates the American discount market. I picked up a few brilliant ideas, the best being how Sam looks and learns from his competitors.

2) Grinding It Out: The Making Of McDonald’s – Ray Kroc

A worldwide phenomenon and an interesting back story. McDonald’s a humongous company however, every business has to start somewhere, find out in this book.

And if that doesn’t interest you maybe this will – who has been to a McDonald’s? And would you like people asking the same question about your business?

1) Walt Disney: An American Original – Bob Thomas

Walt Disney – the man, the myth, the legend. This man, and his brother I might add, not only created the Empire that is Disney, but he also built a city-sized theme park – twice!

What more can I say, he built a city.
