3 things you must do before going to bed!

Tags: book idea

If you’re anything like me you’ll love your sleep. One of the treasures of the day is lying in bed feeling tired, knowing you’ve done your best to work towards your goals.

Success isn’t about doing extraordinary things but doing ordinary things extraordinary well. The 3 things I’m going to talk about are simple and easy to do. Most people won’t do them because they’re easy not to do. I believe if you practice the 3 points daily, they could, over time dramatically improve your success and happiness.

Write your goals down!

And not just once but twice a day! Just after waking and just before bed. I got this simple but effective tip from Grant Cardone and his book The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure.

Writing your goals before you go to bed every night, reaffirms to your subconscious mind what you want. Imagine having a computer come up with ideas for how to get what you want while you sleep. That’s what your subconscious mind does when you write your goals down before bed. It works while you rest.

Your ideas may come to you through dreams or they may float into your mind while you’re awake and concentrating on something other than your goals. It’s wise to keep a pocket journal with you at all times, even by your bed because you can’t trust your memory. You wouldn’t want to miss an idea that may change your life.

Plan tomorrow before today is over!

Another habit that would be a tremendous benefit to your life is writing tomorrow’s to-do list before you go to bed. This works in a similar way to writing your goals down before bed.

As soon as you wake up, you know what you plan to do, to get you closer to your goals. This removes all uncertainty and gives structure to your day. If you want to become super successful why not give each task a time it has to be completed by.

Invest in yourself…pick up a book.

Some of the greatest people to grace the Earth have written books, do you think you could learn something from them that would bring you closer to your goals? I believe you can.

In fact I believe your doing yourself a disservice, if you’re not investing at least 30 minutes per day in a book. Here’s why;

Let’s say you’re an average reader, like me and it takes you 30 minutes to read 40 pages of your average book. Over 7 days that’s 280 pages which may be a whole book. If you only get one nugget of wisdom from a book and it takes you 1 week to read a book. You could have 52 nuggets of wisdom, 52 new ideas in a year. Would 52 new ideas bring you closer to your goals?

I understand there are a lot of books out there and it can be difficult knowing where to start. Why not start with the book that changed my life, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And see where it leads you.

Summary

I hope you can bring these habits into your daily routine and at the very least you’ve taken 3 points of value from today’s post. Thank you for reading, please leave a comment with the 3 points of value!

See you soon!!
