Football stadiums are now a field of serious competition between countries.

1. King Fahd Stadium

2. King Abdullah Stadium (The shining jewel)

An integral part of King Abdullah Sports City, and the second biggest in KSA as it can accommodate 62,000 viewers.

It’s known for hosting several grand matches for the Saudi national team, besides many local matches for Jeddah’s Ahli and Ittihad clubs.

3. Jaber Al Ahmad Stadium

The newest on this list, it was opened last year to be the official home field for Kuwaiti national team.

It takes up to 60,000 viewers, Jaber Al Ahmad lies in Al Farawniyah , south Kuwait City.

The establishment cost reached around 59 million Kuwaiti dinars.

4. Zayed Sports City Stadium

Number one heavyweight stadium in UAE. The Zayed City Stadium hosted its first match in 1980.

With a total capacity of 43 thousand, the field’s construction cost is estimated at 550 million dirhams. It stands over 12 m sqft.

The stadium hosted many hot football tournaments, such as GCC Cup of nations 2007 and Clubs World Cup 2009.

5. Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium

Home of Al Jazirah team, which stands in Abu Dhabi since 1992, its total capacity is 42 thousand viewers.

Besides Al Jazirah, the field hosted many other matches for UAE national football team.

6. Khalifa Stadium

Until the completion of 2022 World Cup stadiums, Khalifa is the biggest in Qatar.

Opened in 1972, the stadium was expanded in 2005 in preparations for hosting 2006 Asian Games.

The biggest attendance recorded in Khalifa was in 2010 during a friendly match between Brazil and Argentina. Viewers’ number then exceeded 50,000.

7. Qaboos Sports Complex

Oman Sultanate boasts its Qaboos Sports Complex which can take 39,000 viewers at a time.

The complex is the home field for Oman national team. It holds good memories for Omanis as it witnessed their first GCC Cup of Nations title in 2009.

Oman won the final match against Saudi Arabia by penalty shootouts.

8. Bahrain National Stadium

Bahrain joins our list with Bahrain National Stadium which lies in Riffa, Southern Governorate.

Its official capacity is 35,000 viewers and it was opened in 1982.

Along with Khalifa City Stadium, the field played host to GCC Cup of Nations tournament in 2013 which was won by UAE.

9. King Abdulaziz Stadium

Best known as Al Sharaee football stadium, this one was built in 1986 to be the official home field for Mecca’s top league team Al Wehda.

It’s the third biggest in KSA with a capability of hosting 33 thousand viewers.

The field has hosted some matches for Jeddah’s Ahli and Ittihad clubs as a result of the expansion and development works currently taking place on Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.

10. Hazza bin Zayed Stadium

Not only a sports arena, but also a structural piece of art that compiles many technical creations in construction and technology.

With a design inspired by palm trees, the establishment sprawls over 45,000 square meters.

Located in Al Tawia, Al Ain, Hazza bin Zayed football stadium is no dispute the most advanced football pitch in the Middle East.

It provides an exceptional experience to viewers by offering luxury facilities including 10 cabins and a special reception hall for grand visitors.
