This addition comes after Yanbu and Jubail were named industrial cities of learning in the year 2022. Jubail won the award for best educational city because it has a strong commitment to comprehensive and sustainable growth and offers high-quality education.

- With these new places, Saudi Arabia now has a presence in five cities across the global network. This rise fits with the country's plans to make its people more globally competitive, which are similar to the goals of long-term growth and Saudi Vision 2030. - The network's learning cities promise to use all of their resources to create wide-ranging learning chances for people of all ages, promote learning within families and communities, and improve the use of modern teaching tools to support a culture of lifelong learning.

- The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities wants to support and grow lifelong learning programs around the world by making it easier for people to talk about education policies and building strong relationships between cities. This will improve education both locally and internationally.
