Saudi Arabia arrested 149 people including Expats over Corruption in January


Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) in Saudi Arabia said that 149 people, both Saudi citizens and expatriates, were arrested in January on charges of corruption. Similar : Saudi Arabia arrests the CEO of the Royal Commission of Al Ula



According to a statement reported by Saudi Press Agency, Nazaha said that some of the arrested people were released on bail.

- As per the Criminal Procedures Law, they were charged with bribes, abuse of power, money laundering, and forgery. The normal processes are being followed against them before they are sent to the courts.

- All together, 2181 inspection raids and probes into the charges against 360 suspects led to this arrests. Recommend : 4 foreigners executed in Saudi Arabia for killing Sudanese national

- Employees from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture were among the arrested ones.
