I have made my identity and lifted up life with TradeIndia – Zille Elahi

With the goal to have a successful career, back in the year 1999, I joined Tradeindia. After being interviewed by Bikky Sir, I was appointed as a Team Leader in the Delhi Branch of the company. At that time, TradeIndia had only one branch office in Delhi and around 14 branches across the nation. With time, I have experienced this company growing and today, there are over 45 branches of this B2B conglomerate.

When I joined, TradeIndia was emerging in the marketplace with its products like yellow pages, exporters directories, catalogs, etc., and it had a plethora of opportunities to avail for a bright career. I was fortunate enough to get many opportunities here. The company always praises talent and offers the best in return for hard efforts. From my own experience, I can say that if you work hard, you will surely get the fruit, because I have got it here.

Here, I’m citing down some points that highlight consistent growth that TradeIndia has given me in my journey of two decades:

  •     Within two years of my joining, I was promoted as a Branch Manager of the Delhi branch
  •     After three years of this promotion, I was made a Sr. Branch Manager
  •     I was given responsibilities of Regional head in 2006
  •     Recognizing my talent, the company made me Head of EC Sales in 2008
  •     In 2014, I was entitled as Vice President- Sales
  •     From 2017, I have been handling the Sales team as a President

In the initial years, I was heading a team of 5 members but today I look after over 1200 individuals, this itself testifies the fact that how much growth TradeIndia has given me. Today in the company there are many Branch Heads and Reporting Managers, who once used to work as front line seller with me, this gives me high satisfaction. I feel honored as I have represented the company in many trade shows, held in India, Germany, USA, UK, Italy, France, China, Dubai, and many other countries.

What I Believe and How I Work?
I believe that there is no shortcut to hard-work & success. As I look after a huge team, I always promote open-work culture, this is what I have learned here at TradeIndia. I regularly interact with my team members and visit branches to know their problems and guide them. Motivation is utmost important, believing this, I boost the morale of my sales professionals and give them the confidence of well-presenting the company & its products.

Today, while writing about my journey, I feel blessed to have the right platform at TradeIndia and know such people who made me perform well & grow along with the company.

Throughout my long journey, I have got the support of my seniors as well as juniors. Bikky Sir has always encouraged me and this is the reason I am here and adding stars to my achievements’ list. He always offers freedom of trying new things, there has been a time that even when he was not fully convinced with my ideas but still allowed for execution. This trust of him has made me a leader and offered this position where I am today. I am also thankful to my colleagues including Vishal, Sandip, Puneet, Arvind Ji, and many other seniors & juniors, it is because of their support that I have always attained all that I desired for.

My family has also been a great support, no matter what the time of day it is, they have always encouraged me to perform well. In all the highs and lows of my career life, they have always stood by my side and made me think positively.

Suggestions to Budding Professionals
From my own experience, I’ll suggest to the rising stars that stay focused to your work, work hard, accomplish all the tasks assigned to you, upgrade your knowledge from time to time and always be positive & dream big.
