Online Shopping Versus In Store Shopping

Tags: store dresses

One of the questions people ask themselves when it comes to shopping is how to do it.  Is it better to go to the Store and buy or just order the item online and wait for it?  I've done both before and each one has its advantages and disadvantages.  I go to the store so I can get my exercise in and I buy online because it's convenient.  I feel like we should review the store policy before shopping there.  Aren't they supposed to be focused on the customer first?  Customers don't seem to be the number one priority in some stores.  An example would be David's Bridal.  I love their clothes and its quality but their customer service is average.  I don't like their store policy.  Don't ever walk into any David's Bridal and think you can just shop there.  You have to book an appointment first before you can go in and try whatever they have on.  That is crazy and not the best policy.  It's a store, not a tailor's shop where you have to come in and get measured.  Everyone should be able to walk in and try on the dresses without an appointment.  Now that I know how it works, I'd rather order wedding and bridesmaids dresses online.  Moreover, alterations are very expensive at David's Bridal and the alterations aren't always done very well.

On the other hand, we went to the Chique Prom store and the customer service was amazing.  They sell designer prom dresses and dresses for special occasions.  I went crazy when I entered the store.  Everything was beautiful and the dresses were arranged by size.  You have to give them your size or sometimes, they can just tell by looking at you what your size is.  There is a wide selection of styles available for each size.  But what you buy is what you get, which means you can't change your mind later and return it.   It is not a common store and the prices are high.  The cheapest item I saw was around $300 and there are no sales or coupons.  However, the dresses are already $100 less than retail.  This is one of the Jovani dresses I tried on.  It's a beautiful white gown that is fit for the red carpet.  It was expensive at $446.  You don't need a bra as the design comes with a bra already inside.  It has a mermaid shape and gold appliques along one side of the dress.  I was in love with it.

I also tried a simple purple chiffon dress.  It has a one shoulder sleeve and unique back design.  Even though I knew my size, when I tried on the dress, some alterations would still have to be made to it in order to get the perfect fit. This is why it's better to buy a dress in stores so that you can try it on.   All dresses need to be tried on so you can make sure it's the perfect fit and so that you can also really see the beauty of the design.  Once you find the right dress, find the accessories to go with it like a pair of earrings.

Overall, I still think it is quicker to shop online for those fancy dresses.  You have a greater variety and can read descriptions of the dresses.  I go to the store if there is a sale going on or if I have to use a coupon that won't be accepted online.  But that doesn't happen often with evening gowns, which is another reason it's better to shop for those items online.  The dresses are exactly what we see in the pictures anyway.
