2024 Kia EV9

In a move that signals the growing importance of software in the auto industry, Kia Motors has announced that its upcoming Electric SUV, the 2024 Kia EV9, will feature over-the-air (OTA) options that allow owners to update the vehicle’s software remotely.

According to Kia, the Ota Options will enable the EV9 to receive regular software updates that will enhance the vehicle’s performance, add new features, and improve its overall functionality. This means that owners of the EV9 will be able to enjoy the latest technology without having to visit a dealership or service center.

The 2024 Kia EV9 is expected to be one of the most advanced electric vehicles on the market, featuring a sleek design and cutting-edge technology. The vehicle will be built on Kia’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which provides a range of up to 300 miles on a single charge and can be charged to 80% in just 18 minutes.

In addition to the OTA options, the EV9 will also feature Kia’s latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and blind-spot detection. The vehicle will also come equipped with a range of infotainment features, including a large touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a premium sound system.

“The 2024 Kia EV9 is a game-changer for the electric vehicle market,” said a spokesperson for Kia Motors. “With its advanced technology and OTA options, the EV9 offers a level of convenience and performance that sets it apart from other electric vehicles on the market today.”

Going up the list, Kia provides a rear-drive, long-range EV9 model with a 99.8-kWh battery pack.
The EV9 accelerates to 62 mph in 9.4 seconds thanks to a less potent 201-hp motor that is fed by the bigger battery pack. For this long-range RWD variation, Kia has provided numbers, stating that it can go 336 miles on a full charge, in contrast to the base-model EV9.

As the WLTP test cycle was used to estimate this range, the EPA-certified value is probably going to be lower.

The 2024 Kia EV9 is expected to go on sale in the United States in late 2023, with a starting price of around $45,000. With its advanced features and OTA options, the EV9 is likely to be a popular choice for consumers looking for a high-performance electric SUV.
