Dispergo Unreal Berries E-liquid Review – Berry Good Flavours?

Dispergo return with a brand new bunch of fruity flavours in their Unreal Berries range and I’ve got my mitts on ’em.

Dispergo are a UK based E-liquid manufacturer. They’ve been creating flavours since 2015 and probably best known for the Jack Rabbit range which was followed up by the Rachael Rabbit range.

Popularity or political correctness? It’s probably a bit of both.

Either way Dispergo have certainly been delivering the goods, especially with their Unreal range. Popularity wins hands down on that score and the OG Raspberry range was highly welcomed for its flavour blending.

Not bad at all when you consider Dispergo began with two life long friends mixing E-liquid for friends and family, is it?

Our very own Will Jameson reviewed the Unreal 2 range, packed with fruity goodness and our Shelly Welly visited a tropical paradise with Unreal 3.

Will I go all barmy over the latest Unreal Berries range? Let’s find out.

What Can We Expect From the Dispergo Unreal Berries E-Liquid Range?

So far we’ve had Raspberry, fruit and tropical themes to salivate over with the Unreal range of E-liquids.

This time Dispergo give us an eclectic mix of citrus, tropical, garden fruits and of course – Berries to wrap our vape buds around.

Expect to find them in 120ml short fill Chubby Gorilla bottles filled with 100ml of E-liquid. This means there’s enough space to include a couple of 10ml nic shots of choice.

I usually add two 18mg freebase nicotine shots to produce a 3mg overall strength, which is fine for the choice of set up I use.

Speaking of set ups, I suggest using higher powered pod kits, sub ohm tanks, RTA’s (Rebuildable Tank Atomizers) or RDA’s (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers) with this range.

That’s because the E-liquid viscosity is 70VG/30PG which makes it too thick for the likes of starter pens or low power pod kits.

Expect a decent amount of cloud production too. Nicey!

There are a total of five flavours on offer and each is a fusion of two popular fruits.

I particularly like the label artwork.

It’s clear, bold, colourful and tells you exactly what you’re getting inside. There’s no peeling or air bubbles so they’ve been carefully rolled onto the bottles during the manufacturing procedure.

Attention to detail always makes a difference when it comes to presentation.

OK. Enough chit chat, let’s see what this quintet tastes like.

Huge thanks to Vape Club for sending these over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated.

I’m going to be using my set up of the moment. It’s the SX Mini SL Class V2 Mod paired with the Digiflavor Drop V2 RDA. Inside I have dual Ni80 fused Clapton coils with Cotton Bacon V2 as the wicking medium of choice.

With the coils reading 0.2ohm, the SX Mini is running at a conservative 60W (3.4V).

Fruit based E-liquids don’t necessarily need a great deal of power to get the best from them.

And remember, flavour is subjective. I can only tell you what I’m personally getting from this range.

The Unreal, Unreal 2 and Unreal 3 ranges have all been released in 10ml salt nicotine versions too. So I would imagine these will be the same, should you prefer to sample them first.

.. Or if you don’t trust my taste buds!

Blackcurrant & Strawberry

Dispergo Says:

A Berry blend of tart Blackcurrants and succulent Strawberries.

I Say:

Impressive!

When two fruits collide. That’s exactly what it feels like they’re doing. Bouncing off each other. Good work.

Their presence is equal, just the way it should be when two flavours are added to the mix.

I know it’s working too because a brand new and quite original taste is born from the blending. Blackcurrant and Strawberry works very well in this one.

There’s a modest level of sweetness drawn in to the vape and the tartness of Blackcurrant awaits on the exhale.

Yet Strawberries also escape very early on in the vape, never prepared to wait.

These fruits are natural tasting. They’re clean, relatively low on sweetness and very consistent tasting from start to finish.

The Blackcurrant just about takes the edge when it comes to lingerability on the ‘ole flavour palate.

A nice, succulent vape for the Summer season.

Blueberry & Lemon

Dispergo Says:

This flavour consists of sweet Blueberries balanced by the tangy taste of Citrusy Lemon.

I Say:

Nope! Unfortunately this flavour combo doesn’t work for me. The Blueberries have too many floral notes for my particular taste buds.

They engulf what I think is a very distant and weak tasting Lemon.

I couldn’t find any of the zest, any of the citrus notes commonly associated with this distinct yellow fruit. It is in there but you’ll be hard pressed to instantly recognise it.

Instead we’re offered a standard interpretation of Blueberry. No doubt lots of folk will enjoy it but for me, it always carries the fragrance of Hairspray – for want of a better description.

It’s not natural tasting, in my opinion.

The two fruits do blend to a degree but one is always stronger than the other. Think Blueberry with a delicate lacing of Lemon – without the bitterness.

Cranberry & Raspberry

Dispergo Says:

This flavour consists of juicy Raspberries, balanced with tart Cranberries.

I Say:

A very light, refreshing and sweet tasting vape.

The Raspberries shine in this one but don’t think they get it all their own way! Oh no.

The tartness from those little Cranberries is in evidence from the get go, blasting a hole through the exhale.

From the mixture of both fruits comes an elevated level of sweetness. And it’s a sweetness I can easily bare – it’s never overused and complements the overall taste quite nicely.

This isn’t exactly the most natural tasting Raspberry I’ve tried and there is a candy like edge, highly noticeable throughout. But the additional bitterness of the Cranberries stops this one from tasting too artificial.

Where would I place Cranberry & Raspberry in a flavour category?

It’s not quite natural enough tasting to belong in the ‘classic’ fruits locker but could easily be interpreted as a beverage or drinks based profile.

For my money, it’s an all year round vape and not preferable to any particular season.

There’s more than enough flavour quality here to satisfy the fussiest of vapers.

Grape & Lime

Dispergo Says:

The taste of sweet rich Grape and light, Citrusy Lime.

I Say:

I can’t believe I’m saying this as an avid loather of all things Grape vape, but this one works!

That’s because much of the taste is altered by the presence of Lime. And boy do the two work well together here.

The inhale is practically dominated by the citric qualities of Lime which then develops into the full blown flavour we know and love on the way out.

Yes, the Grapes do make an appearance mid way through and I’m still no fan of the taste but high praise has to be given for such a multi dimensional blending.

I say this because sometimes the Grape takes the lead, others the Lime. In between there’s very often a fusion of the two.

It’s fruity, refreshing and full of flavour.

So are they authentic? The Lime certainly is but I’m not convinced by the Grape concentrate.

..Then again, I never am.

Rhubarb & Raspberry

Dispergo Says:

A balanced mix of tart, fresh Rhubarb and sweet Raspberry.

I Say:

We’re all familiar with Rhubarb and Custard – even the cartoon show. That’s if you’re an old git like me!

But what about Rhubarb and Raspberry? That’s sticking the proverbial neck out a bit isn’t it? Or is it?

It actually works. It’s hard to describe but the Raspberry brings a sense of warmth and additional depth to what is a highly familiar taste.

Initially I was concerned that Rhubarb was stealing the entire exhale but give it a few long tugs and the flavour landscape begins to evolve.

Yes, Rhubarb lingers as an after taste but you really feel you’re getting a quality dessert thanks to the sweetness and additional flavour those Raspberries bring.

To me, Rhubarb and Raspberry is the best out of the bunch. I love it for the original twist, flavour blending and overall taste.

Pick any month of the year to try this one. Who cares when a vape tastes this good.

Final Review Verdict

The flavour blending with the Unreal Berries range is quite effective. It works well the majority of the time although Blueberry and Lemon wasn’t quite up to standard. That is only my opinion, of course.

The Lemon didn’t quite produce the usual common characteristics but in all other cases the citric, bitter and tart like qualities were all out in force.

They really helped to drive the taste forwards and sweetness levels were sensibly capped along the way.

That resulted in a fresh, clean flavour. Consistent from start to finish. The concentrate levels must have been pitched just right overall. That’s why I was able to experience a fruity fusion of modest intensity.

Put simply, the Unreal Berries range works. OK, they may not be the most natural tasting fruits but there’s more than enough going on to keep me satisfied at least.

A satisfied me is a happy me!
