SKE Crystal Bar Disposable Vapes Review – All Weather Vapes

Another day another disposable and this time I’m looking at the Ske Crystal Bar range.

I haven’t heard of these folks before but I do know the disposables are manufactured in China by Shenzhen SKE Technology Co.

The founder, simply known as Smith is an avid fan of Winter sports. SKE stands for “Speed Skier Extreme” which ties in nicely with such cold weather pursuits.

How is this vape related, you may well ask.

Such outdoor pursuits rely on a certain tenacity and resolve in order to compete. As an avid vaper, Smith used these attributes while researching coil atomisation and E-liquid Flavour development.

Utilising his college scholarship funds as start-up capital, SKE was born ‘In the sea of ice and snow, like a pathfinder full of adventurous spirit and pioneering character.’

Dunno about you but it’s starting to feel a bit chilly around here..

Let’s get stuck into the SKE Crystal Bar disposable vapes!

What Can We Expect From the SKE Crystal Bar Disposable Vapes?

It makes a pleasant change to know the coil resistance of a disposable vape.

The SKE Crystal Bar uses a mesh coil weighing in at 1.2ohm, supplying a steady 11W/3.6V output.

As the name suggests it’s crystal clear and the multi-bevelled PCTG produces some rather effective light refractions when holding at various angles.

The disposable holds a TPD friendly 2ml of 20mg salt nicotine strength E-liquid and powered by an integrated 500mAh battery designed to last for anything up to 600 puffs.

I’ve also noticed there’s a nic free version available known simply as the Crystal Bar Zero.

With a height of 4 inches and around half an inch cubed, the Crystal Bar shares the same form factor as many disposables on the market. So it’s lightweight and pocket friendly.

There’s a massive 40 flavours to choose from and these fall in the fruits, sweets, drinks, tobacco, mint and menthol categories.

Vape Club have been kind enough to send seven over for the purposes of review.

Let’s check them out for flavour intensity, replication, vapour production and airflow restriction.

Oh. Nearly forgot. I’ll be checking on that all important number of puffs, too.

Berry Ice

SKE Says:

Berry Ice balances a variety of forest fruit flavours with the coolness of Menthol from inhale to exhale.

I Say:

Its cram packed with flavour but to the point where it’s quite difficult to differentiate those forest fruits.

The sweetness levels aren’t quite as strong as other disposables but there’s still plenty to go around. This one does have the word ‘ice’ in the title so expect that chilly blast to the throat during inhale.

Raspberry is the leading fruit here and I think it’s tinged with Blackberry but the resulting mix isn’t as successful as I’d have liked. That’s because I find an overabundance of sourness which persists throughout the exhale.

As a result decent flavour replication fails, in my opinion. Berry ice is too acrid and sour tasting for my own taste buds.

Yes, it’s full of flavour but not a vape I particularly enjoy.

Blueberry Cherry Cranberry

SKE Says:

The sweet, juicy taste of Blueberries is combined with the dark notes of Cherries and sharpened by Cranberries.

I Say:

Right from the first exhale I could tell this was going to be a very dry vape experience.

It’s strange because while it’s is usually given free reign, the sweetness to Blueberry Cherry Cranberry is quite lacking. A soothing chill is created during inhale and complements the flavours on the way out.

I have to wait till much later in the vape to pick out the sweetness of the Cherries but the fusion with Blueberry is good.

So the exhale is rather pleasant, despite tasting somewhat dry and the flavour holds up nicely throughout.

There’s very little to suggest the presence of Cranberry although there is a tart like edge to the vape.

Thankfully it’s not an ‘in your face’ heavily concentrated mixing of flavours either. That means enjoyment levels are sustainable. I’ll be returning to this one because it’s blended effectively.

Blue Fusion

SKE Says:

Blue Fusion combines the sweet taste of Blackberry and the tanginess of Raspberry with bold Blueberry.

I Say:

This is a pleasant combination of berries. The Raspberry is the dominant fruit although Blueberry does underscore it quite nicely.

The exhale is very tangy but also sweet. It’ll probably come as no surprise to learn that Blue Fusion is bustling with sweetener.

This isn’t the most concentrated of flavours which makes for a smoother, less wet vape.

The Blackberry is pushed further back but is lifted to a degree by that sweetness and I found it more noticeable towards the end of the exhale.

The cooling properties of the vape aren’t allowed to take over – something I appreciated.

There’s just enough Koolada to sooth the throat on the way in.

Overall, Blue Fusion is a tasty and quite well balanced flavour.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

SKE Says:

Blueberry Sour Raspberry features the familiar taste of Blueberry with a truly tangy Raspberry note.

I Say:

This is another drier tasting vape. It carries a chalky sweet type of characteristic.

Not necessarily a bad thing but the two fruits combined create something of a bland flavour.

Both Blueberry and Raspberry struggle to join forces and the end product isn’t really that much to write home about.

The sweetener does its best to lift those flavour tones but that chalky, drier quality always manages to prevail and dominate.

Quite an oddity in terms of a disposable vape. There’s something missing here and I think it’s the juiciness of either berry. It doesn’t feel like the finished article.

Fizzy Cherry

SKE Says:

Fizzy Cherry is a drink-inspired blend that recreates the flavour of Cherryade with sweet yet tart Cherry and a Soda endnote.

I Say:

Another vape with very dry tasting qualities. I guess there is a slight fizziness to the exhale but that’s very much masked by the Menthol.

The Cherry tastes very flat and dull, to be honest. It’s very much at the back of proceedings, lacking punch and clarity. There’s little of its tartness to be found.

So it’s quite subtle in flavour notes and doesn’t scream ‘flavour fest’ in the way disposables usually do.

There seems to be a powdery, candy like trait evident throughout that exhale too. It’s probably where the dryness stems from.

What I will say is that the Koolada is pitched to a more realistic level even if the overall flavour experience seems a bit muted.

Lemon & Lime

SKE Says:

Lemon and Lime delivers a seriously citrusy inhale by mixing the flavour of these tangy fruits.

I Say:

Wow! This one is ram packed with flavour and sweetness from the opening inhale.

The Lemon is indeed very tangy and full of citric qualities. The whole vaping experience has a sharp, cutting edge to it.

There’s also a decent juicy quality and that makes the vape quite mouth-watering.

It’s quite difficult to get the fusion of these two fruits wrong but if I had to criticise anything it’s with the actual intensity of the flavour. For that reason it does taste slightly on the chemical and synthetic side.

Koolada is a driving force throughout the exhale, adding bite and the feeling of gulping down an ice cold, refreshing Summer beverage.

On a personal level the vape is just too intense for my own particular taste buds but I’m convinced it’ll still have its own fan base.

Watermelon Ice

SKE Says:

Watermelon Ice takes the tropical flavour of Watermelon and pairs it with frosty Menthol.

I Say:

Unfortunately this is just another generic version of the cooling Summer fruit.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s full on for flavour and unmistakable in taste but there’s too much sweetness to do it any kind of authentic justice.

The flavour bursts out from the opening exhale and holds up very well. After the vape, I’m left with a highly unnatural taste of sweetener on the lips.

Yet Watermelon Ice is going to have plenty of casual vape fans looking for a quick stimulation to those taste buds. On this level it succeeds and it also succeeds in the cooling department.

The icy blast is pitched just right against the concentrated, synthetic Watermelon.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

Good stuff. The SKE Crystal Bar disposables will deliver decent flavour from start to finish. I wouldn’t say I noticed much degradation either as the battery reached the end of its life.

It delivered the goods in a highly consistent manner.

As for the number of puffs. I’m a chain vaper and prone to the occasional restrictive lung vape even with disposables.

I managed a highly respectable 9 hours continuous use. For my own personal vaping patterns that weighs in at around 650 puffs.

So expect the Crystal Bar to live up to its promise and then some.

If you’re a casual vaper or follow the same routines as you did when smoking, the disposable will last around two days, maybe three.

Final Review Verdict

Let’s talk about flavour intensity first.

From the seven I tested it definitely fluctuated between strong and sharp to dull and chalky. Sometimes the flavour blending was good, other times too concentrated to decipher one fruit from another.

There’s very little in the way of flavour replication. That’s no real surprise. We get the usual generic fruits throughout. That’s just the inherent nature of disposable vapes.

Vapour production was good, perfectly matching the smoke from a cigarette. You won’t feel too uncomfortable puffing away at the local bus stop, put it that way.

A special mention must go to airflow restriction. As an MTL vape, the Crystal Bar pretty much seals the deal. The inhale is silky smooth, it’s a comfortable draw and there’s zero crackling or spit back of juice into the mouth.

I always think the acid test is in auto draw functionality. It goes hand in hand with airflow restriction. The fact the disposable never missed a trick when it came to auto draw is further proof of optimal airflow for a MTL vape.

Although not all the flavours were to my particular taste, the SKE Crystal Bar is a solid, reliable little performer.

Just the kind of disposable any new or casual vaper is looking for.
