Introduction – The Nugget X Kit By Artery Vapor

The Artery Nugget X is by one of those lesser-known brands that, while they may not have a host of exciting, popular products on the market, do boast an inventory of -not too shabby- solid performance offerings.

While prior releases include little more than their Nugget and Mix box mod series’, newer. More innovative releases like the Lady Q and UNO kit look set to put Artery a little more solidly on the vaping map…not to mention the cute little killer I’m reviewing today, the Artery Nugget X with AT22 tank, a mini box kit that fires like a trooper, tastes like a vape twice the size and absolutely looks the part!

Building on the success of their previous mini-release, the Nugget and Nugget V2, this little guy boasts a bigger screen, streamlined menu and a whopping 2000mAh battery, not too shabby at all!

Build Quality & Design

Nugget X Mod

Either large side of the mod is adorned with a chrome band running the length of the edge closest to the fire and screen panel.
On one side the band has a small Artery brand engraved in it, right at the bottom, with a micro USB port just next to the brand on the chassis, which looks to be anodised aluminium but I may be mistaken, either way….the finish is excellent and seemingly scratch proof.

On the other side the big N and Nugget X branding is set in white against the coloured plate, with the SS band free of engravings.

The base of the mod features 10 big ventilation holes for that huge 2000mAh on-board battery, which is a full 500mAh bigger than the V2, nice one.

The deep and tight sprung 510 sits centralized atop the box, which will take anything up to a 22mm without overhang, all whilst looking as cute as a gaggle of ducklings.

Down one narrow side we have a round, clicky, pinky-sized fire button, with a whopping 0.96” screen below that, with a bright, concise but comprehensive display.

Below that are two, well-separated adjustment buttons, just like the fire button but a third of the size. All buttons are clickedy! All buttons are shiny stainless steel with that concentric ring texturing which adds a quality feel!

The Nugget X mod is precious as can be and fits the palm like a charm with subtly rounded edges.

AT22 Tank

The AT22 tank is as neat and sleek. As little a 22mm mini sub-ohm tank you could ask for.

2 x 13mm x 2mm adjustable bottom airflow slots on an airflow ring with 4 spaced grooves by way of knurling.

A thick black o-ring is visible through the glass above the 8mm thick base.

Every bit of space is utilized in around that chunky 0.3 ohm coil head and the top cap, with shallow block knurling all around, removes for easy topfill of that 2ml tank.

The drip tip is a delrin 510, which can be replaced with no trouble, I have a beautiful resin 510 on it now that compliments my fire-engine red tank like crazy!

How Does The Artery Nugget X Kit Perform?

Look, I’m not one for mini-mods on a regular basis. However, I always carry a mini with me for when friends are hogging my mod or my battery runs flat. Being a rather serious sub-ohm vaper I usually find that my vaping style has a tendency to overwork mini mods and tanks like this but man, this little Nugget X is a trooper!

Small enough for even the most covert stealth operation but with 50W of firepower that are, to be fair, anything but stealthy.

Late at night, when it comes time to whip out the mini mod and a few ciders have me vaping rather enthusiastically, I’m delighted by the Nugget X’s ability to stay cool under pressure, even when I’m chain vaping at its full capacity of 50W…Nugget X stays cool to the touch and that 2000mAh battery puts it in a class of its own.

What’s more, the Ramp time is superb! Without a doubt the fastest Ramp I’ve experienced on a 50W mod, let alone a 50W mod of such diminutive proportions!

The temp control, which I’ve tested for Ni and SS, at length, is top notch and accurate as far as I can tell and to make it even better…the user interface is utterly intuitive.

I’ve managed to traverse and master the full range of this mod’s features without so much as glancing at the user manual, which says a whole damn lot. If all mods could have such an intuitive interface and menu system, I’d be very chuffed indeed.

I recently invested in a range of e-liquids that really pops at high temperature and I loved being able to set this little guy to a high temp and vape to my hearts content, knowing that there won’t be any overheating, a winner.

The little AT22 is just as much of a trooper. A beautiful., smooth airflow system that’s easily adjusted between seriously open and breezy as hell and a delicious, warm restricted Direct to Lung vape.

I’m usually quick to replace a mini tank of this size with an RDA for flavour, when I come across a mini kit like this but the AT22 is a flavour beastie, smooth operating and really outstanding with the included 0.3 Ohm coils.

How To Fill

The design of this top fill system does make it difficult to fill the tank to the brim but this isn’t too much of a drawback.

• Unscrew the glass from the base
• Unscrew the coilhead from its seating

Stock Coil Performance

These O.3 Ohm coils are the BIZZZNEEZZZZZ. My goodness, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better flavour and cloud coil for use between 25 and 45W ANYWHERE.

I found myself thoroughly impressed by the flavour on these coils from the get-go and when, after a couple of hours I realized I’d only been vaping at 30 W, I was even more impressed. Cranking them up to 40W, with the airflow a quarter open, the vape is rich, creamy and utterly delicious, I couldn’t recommend this kit more, based on the performance of the mod, tank and these outstanding coils!

I’ve been sucking on the same little coil like a lunatic for a week and the flavour has just gotten better, with a resistance that’s reading at 0.28Ohm…I’m very pleased indeed, foreseeing at least another 2 weeks good use on this coil, maybe even more!

Battery Life

You can look forward to great battery life on this hardy little 2000mAh on board. Charge takes under an hour and vaping at full capacity, at regular intervals, you’ll get 6 hours of good vaping out of this guy.

Final Review Verdict

A mini box kit couldn’t come more highly recommended. Not only is the colour, finish and design vibrant, stylish and high quality but the performance to size ratio is really something to write home about.

If you’re looking for stealthy size with flavour and cloud that’s far from stealthy then the Artery Nugget X is one to take a look at. Great coils, a brilliant little tank and a mod that performs like a King! I love my Artery Nugget X Kit, full marks!

And..

Would I buy the Artery Nugget X if I lost/broke the device? Most definitely!
