Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get better at Bid Wars. Here are some tips and cheats on how to progress further into the game, obtaining more cash and some basic strategies in the game.

Introduction

Bid Wars is an Auction game where you will get to participate in an auction against 3 other bidders at the garage. There will be multiple items for each garage. Your goal is to guess how much each item selling price and outbid the other bidders to gain a profit. Be careful as overbidding will make you lose cash so you will have to constantly think of the total selling price for all items in each garage. This game will be difficult for most people at first especially for players who never know anything about bidding in an auction. But there are also powerups that will gain an advantage over your other bidders which we will cover later in this guide.

Knowing each item price

At the start of each auction, you will be given 5 seconds before the actual bidding will begin. This is where you can tap each item to estimate the selling price of each item. I highly recommend doing so as you will be able to know roughly how much the total selling price of all the items in the garage. It will also reduce the risk of overbidding which will result in you losing cash.

Since you do not have much time, which of the items should you inspect first? The answer is always inspecting the expensive ones first which include the rare items. Usually, a rare item has a glitter effect so it is pretty easy to spot one of those. For example, if the garage contains a TV, a fridge and a sparkling Ancient Dinosaur Fossil (Rare item), inspect the ancient dinosaur fossil first as it is the most expensive item in the garage.

Use your powerups carefully

During the auction, there are 3 different powerups that you can use which will help you gain an edge over the other bidders. I highly recommend using it wisely as each powerup is useful for a certain scenario.

• Kick out – This powerup allows you to kick 1 bidder throughout the whole auction. Use this on a bidder who is the most confident (Usually boss bidders are a priority). You can judge which bidder will give you the most trouble by reading the comments before the auction starts. You can also use it on a rich bidder who just won and you can remove that bidder at the start of the next auction.
• X-Ray Scanner – This powerup allows you to see the items are hidden inside the boxes. Use this when there are a lot of items that are hidden inside the boxes. However, you cannot inspect any of the items so you will still have to guess how much the selling price of each item that is hidden inside the box.
• Appraisal – This powerup allows you to see the total estimated selling price of all the items inside the garage. Personally, I feel this is the best powerup as it will help you make the bidding easier. This will also reduce the chances of overbidding even further.

Since powerups are not easy to obtain, they can only be obtained by purchasing them using Gold bars (Premium currency) or from the ‘Dumpster’.

Obtaining more Gold bars

There are 3 main ways to obtain Gold bars. The first one is by simply leveling up. If you gain a profit for each garage, you will gain EXP other than cash. Every time you level up, you will gain 1 Gold bar. The second is by watching a video ad for a free Gold bar (Tap on the floating balloon with the ‘Play’ icon). The last one is by purchasing them using real money. If you are going to spend a lot of time in this game, this might be a good idea to do so.

Always check the Catalog

Make sure to always check at the Catalog. This is where you can check each item pricing (Both common and rare items). Try to memorize as many as you can. You will be able to know the item’s selling price beforehand before the start of the auction, helping you save precious time.

Complete the other Auctions for more cash

Other than the main auctions, there are also other types of auctions like the Daily, Weekly and Special Auctions where you can join and obtain more cash. These auctions have a very high chance for a rare item so make sure to bid for those.

Sell your items at the Shop instead

Upon reaching level 8, you will unlock the Shop feature. Make sure to sell your items at the Shop instead of selling them instantly. This will allow you to obtain more cash than usual. You can also upgrade the Shop to increase the number of shelves (More slots) and to decrease the order time.

Purchase the ‘Remove Ads’ to remove ads

Video ads can be very annoying after a while as you keep playing. The only way to get rid of it is to purchase the ‘Remove Ads’ (Shop->Remove Ads) using real money. It does not really costs much but I would recommend doing so if you are going to spend a very long time in this game.
