Although instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are popular among iPhone users, SMS text messaging along with iMessage is still great and convenient for communication, and it’s common that iPhone stores tons of messages. But sometimes you may accidentally delete important text messages from it.

Method 1: Recover Deleted Text Messages from iPhone with a Third-party App (Recommended)

If you just Deleted text messages without any backup in iTunes/iCloud, something must be done before the lost SMS messages get overwritten. Step 1: Run Gihosoft iPhone Recovery on your computer, and select “Messages” and “Messages Attachments”.

Step 2: Connect your iPhone to computer and scan it for deleted text messages. (If you have a backup, you can choose to view iTunes backup and extract the message threads you need with this software.)
Step 3: Preview the deleted Messages after scanning, then select the threads you want and click the "Recover" button to retrieve the deleted messages from iPhone.

Method 2: Recover Deleted Text Messages from iTunes Backup

Apple offers backup service for iOS users to deal with such problems as data lost. If you have a habit of regular backup, you can restore the latest backup to your iPhone, but it's unsure that you can get back the deleted text messages, for those deleted recently might not be contained in the old backup files.
To check your iTunes backup files, you can use Gihosoft iPhone recovery software to see if your deleted texts are in the backup.

Method 3: Restore Deleted Text Messages with iCloud Backup

iCloud is another way that Apple provided for backup. If you back up regularly, you will have backup files on it. Yet you have to know that the recently deleted text messages might not be contained there. Once you use, iCloud will restore you iPhone to an old backup version. Moreover, to ask your mobile carriers for help, you must prove your identity and go through many procedures so that they will give you those records.
