SPPD Weekly Crime Summary | Jan 5 – 11, 2021

THEFT

• 1-5-21, 6:30 PM to 1-6-21, 7:15 AM, 100 block of Monterey. Suspect(s) enter carport area and cut lock securing loss. Suspect(s) takes loss and attempt to pry mailboxes but fail to gain entry. LOSS: Bicycle.

• Unknown date/time to 1-6-21, 10:30 AM, 1000 block of Fair Oaks. ’05, Toyota Prius. Suspect(s) cut and remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Catalytic Converter.

• 1-6-21, 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM, 1100 block of Windsor. US Postal truck. Suspect(s) enters victim’s vehicle by unknown means and takes loss. LOSS: Mail.

• 1-6-21, 2:29 AM, 2000 block of Empress. Suspect removes loss from victim’s roof. LOSS: Security camera.

• 1-9-21, 4:30 PM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspects enter store and takes loss. Suspects then exits store without paying for loss. LOSS: Liquor. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Newer model, gray colored, 2-door, BMW. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Female, Black, 500, 511, 20 years, black hair, black shirt, black shorts and wearing hoop earrings. S2 – Male, Black, 600, 180, burgundy colored hoodie and sweatpants, and carrying a white colored backpack.

• 1-9-21, 11 AM to 6 PM, Mission/Prospect. ’05, Toyota Prius. Suspect(s) cut and remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Catalytic Converter.

• Unknown date/time in 2018 to 1-8-21, 12 PM, Olive/Pine. Suspect(s) take loss from toolbox of victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Tools.

• 1-10-21, 9 PM to 1-11-21, 6 AM, 300 block of Monterey. ’15, Honda CRV. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and takes loss. LOSS: Gate key.

• 1-10-21, 11:30 AM to 1-11-21, 1:15 PM, 600 block of Prospect. Toyota Tacoma. Suspect(s) enter victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Work ID and laptop computer.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

• 1-5-21, 6:35 AM to 7:09 AM, 900 block of Mission (Extra Space Storage). Suspects cuts/pries lock off six storage units to gain entry. LOSS: Unknown.

• 1-8-21, 5 PM to 1-10-21, 8 PM, 1400 block of Fremont (South Pasadena High School). Suspect(s) cuts lock to storage unit and takes loss. LOSS: Tools.

• 12-1-20, 1 PM to 1-4-21, 11 AM, 900 block of Mission (Extra Space Storage). Suspect(s) enters victim’s storage unit by unknown means and takes loss. LOSS: Backpack, camping equipment and tools.

FRAUD

• 1-11-21, 800 Block of Orange Grove Place. Suspect(s) deposits fraudulent checks into victim’s account.

• 7-6-20 to to 9-30-20, 1700 block of Meridian. Victim sends check through mail and suspect(s) gains access to victim’s check. Suspect(s) alter victim’s check and cashes it.

STOLEN VEHICLE

1-6-21, 10 PM to 1-7-21, 7:30 AM, 1300 block of Meridian. ’67, VW Bug.

• 1-7-21, 7 PM to 1-9-21, 6:30 AM, 800 block of Adelaine. ’87, Mazda B2200.

ASSAULT

• 1-7-21, 11 PM, 200 block of Warwick. Suspect (brother) and victim (sister) get into an argument and suspect closes garage door on victim’s hand. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 61 years, South Pasadena.

• 1-7-21, 9:45 PM, Monterey/Milan. Suspect rear-ends victim in a traffic collision. Suspect stabs victim in chest and drives away and side-swiping victim’s vehicle. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Older model, dark colored Jeep SUV. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, Medium tone-skin, 509-510, medium build, short dark colored hair, wearing all black clothing and a face mask.

DUI

1-8-21, 11:09 PM, 1200 block of Huntington. Suspect is involved in a traffic collision and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 30 years, Los Angeles.

DISCHARGE FIREARM/NEGLIGENT MANNER

1-7-21, 3:30 PM, unknown hundred block on Monterey Road. Victim shows off pistol to friends and accidentally shoots himself in hand and leg.
