Tigers Win a Thriller | SPHS Football beats Eastside H.S.

South Pasadena High’s Football team improved to 2-1 on the season with a narrow 7-6 victory over visiting Eastside of Lancaster Friday night.
The Tigers’ defense stiffened in the final minute of the game as the Lions were stopped at the 3-Yard line as the clock ran out.
At the conclusion, Tiger players joyously danced off the field celebrating the victory.
South Pasadena’s defense also forced a fourth quarter 25-yard field goal attempt by the Lions go wide left. It would have given Eastside the lead with just over 9 minutes in the contest.
The Tigers only points came on a 6-yard run by Ethan Hong in the second quarter, followed by the all important extra point. Eastside scored on a 3-yard run with just over 5 minutes to go in the second quarter but missed a 2-point conversion.
