The way of thinking: Mastermind your demons and fight for your success

In an ideal world, our way of thinking, experiencing and believing would be constantly changing and improving. We would often be exposed to new and interesting people and situations and we would constantly discover and promote new aspects of our emotional and intellectual lives.

However, in real life, it is a rarity. Personal routines and repetitive situations are for most everyday reality. What we are focusing on is daily stress and events beyond our control. Our careers are slowly progressing or standing, our circle of friends is steadfastly maintaining or decreasing over the years. We are satisfied with known forms of recreation, mental stimulation, and emotions with others.

Therefore, one day, we wake up and we have the feeling that we need something… different. We may be tired of old worries or missed opportunities. Seems like we are tired of doing the same thing day by day. Or maybe we just want to see the “old” world in a whole new way.

Whatever the reason, it is not difficult to change the way of thinking – but for that, however, a certain effort is needed. Here are some ways to change the way of thinking:

1. Get out of your comfort zone

To live the same way day by day, do the same things you’ve always done and plan the next weekend so it’s the same as the previous excellent recipe to narrow your consciousness, joy, and understanding of the world.

We have a natural (and often useful) tendency to keep things we know in life. We are using the same to avoid situations in which we do not feel comfortable. This is a good way to avoid bad situations, but it is also a good way to stay in and out of the incline. If you are compelled to accept new activities and experiences that will force you to leave your comfort zone, you will be able to change the way you think.

It can be something physically scary, like parachuting or jumping with a rope (bungee jumping). You may need to go into public spaces where you are an ethnic, cultural or religious minority. Instead of going to a holiday in the most visited tourist destinations, try to go to a new destination that is unconventional and out of well-paved roads.

2. Meet new people

To introduce new thoughts, ideas and ideas into your life, get to know people from a different perspective. That includes people of different interests, backgrounds, cultures or religions.

Why? Socializing with like-minded people is a good way to constantly confirm your own thoughts and beliefs. It is easy to become average, conventional. On the other side, it’s increasingly difficult to see or acknowledge one’s own faults and mistakes. Consequently, personal development is hampered.

That does not mean that you need to get rid of your old friends – it means that you need to spice up your life with some new people. New friends and acquaintances will increase your chances of adopting new ways of Thinking. You can be pleasantly surprised when a conversation with someone who looks at a different life from you indicates that you also start to see things from another angle. New friends will help you to further expand your circle of friends because you will get to know new people through them and create new, often and favorable circumstances.

You do not have to travel to exotic countries to meet new people who think differently than you because they are all around you. You just need to push the shyness off and start talking to them. That’s one of the biggest steps in your change of the way of thinking.

3. Work on self-awareness

We can not think differently if we do not pay attention to the way we are currently thinking. It is not difficult to go through life with unverified or obsolete beliefs, prejudices, wrong assumptions.

Many people are afraid to recognize and explore their thoughts and emotions. Instead, they focus on the lives of other people – the needs of other people, career goals that are considered desirable, created by other people. Focus on yourself, build self-awareness. Furthermore, you will re-connect with your true needs, desires, and dreams. You can do this by paying attention to how you treat other people and how you feel about how they treat you.

Explore yourself, acknowledge your fears and bad feelings to get rid of them. If you are aware of your emotions, then you will also be able to change them.

4. Do things differently

You can change the way you think by starting to do things in a different way. It is not easy to change your view of things, especially when you are doing the same thing things over and over again.

Even small changes in your life can help. Get started with new sports, exercises, or hobbies. Go to restaurants, parks and other places you do not go often. Read a book by an unknown author or listen to some new music, watch a new movie or go to the religious service of another religion.

Do you have to hold control in your hands? Share tasks with others and do not put them in your high standards and ways. If you are more passive, make an effort to take things into your own hands and to be more aggressive. If you are introvert, try to get out of your shell. Start and hold a five-minute conversation with a complete stranger once a day.

Change the way of thinking…

By changing or violating even small routines, your brain will be exposed to new stimuli and will create new neural pathways to adapt to change.

5. “I’ll think differently, I’ll think differently”

Some people believe that the best way to change someone’s way of thinking is to keep repeating it as a mantra.

A long time ago this idea was created. For example, most religions involve a repetition of prayer. Army around the world that require recruits to change the way of thinking are using scandals, oaths, cunning.

You can choose a particular mantra – “Public speech is fun!” – “. I live at this moment “and repeat it often until you enter into the subconscious and you start to really believe in it and apply it.
