After rumors, confirmations and denials, Microsoft may have finally chosen the definitive name of Windows 10 Redstone 4. It seems Windows 10 April Update will be the final name for the upcoming Redstone 4 update. The change was noticed after the company pushed out build 17134.1 of Windows 10 to ‘Release Preview’, with many users starting to notice that the title on Microsoft Edge’s ‘welcome’ page says, “Welcome to the April update,” with the subtext, “This Windows 10 update contains many new features. Start here.”
It’s not yet known whether 17134.1 will be the final release build for the April Update, or whether Microsoft will tweak it a little more before the launch. But This is a strong indicator that Microsoft is getting closer to pushing the next feature update to RTM, provided no blocking issues are found before rolling the update out to users.
Note: Microsoft still hasn't announced the official name in any official blog posts for Redstone 4 build announcements. As a reminder, previous suggestions of the name for this update were: Spring Creators Update, Spring Update, and most recently, the April 2018 Update.
Earlier it was believed that Microsoft could call the update as Windows 10 Spring Creators Update, but the plans have changed and the April Update name certainly makes more sense. This latest update has already experienced setbacks, with an original release date of April 10th, but bugs have caused the company to further push the update back, now coming towards the end of April.
April update Release Date?
There is still no official confirmation of the release of the new update of Windows 10. Some say that this Tuesday could begin the global release, although we sincerely believe it is more likely to launch Before 30 April. We just have to wait a few hours and find out what Microsoft has in mind … What do you think of the “new” name? Spring Creators update or Windows 10 April Update?
