Inaccurate Battery Indication Issue in Windows 10 build 16215

1. Reboot your system

Rebooting the laptop is also known to help. So if you’re facing wrong battery indicator issue and see if that work for you.

2. Run Power Troubleshooter

It is suggested that user facing this battery indicator issue because of the wrong settings on Power options. To troubleshoot the issue, simply run Power troubleshooter in Windows 10. Follow these steps:

Launch Settings app -> Update & security -> Troubleshoot. On the right pane, look for Power troubleshooter and click to run it and follow the instructions.

Let troubleshooter do its work and fix the issue.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall Battery Drivers (Recommended)

This one helped me to fix the wrong battery indicator issue. And I hope this will work for you as well. In this method, you need to uninstall battery drivers (Microsoft ACPI -Compliant Control Method Battery) and reinstall them. Here is how I did that:

1. Open Device Manager. For that, simply press WIN+X and from the menu click on Device Manager.

2. Here click on right face arrow next to Battery.

3. Under this make right click on driver which reads “Microsoft ACPI -Compliant Control Method Battery” and from context menu select “Uninstall device

Now you will notice that battery indicator in notification area disappears. Don’t worry.

4. Reboot your system.

That’s it. This workaround helped me to fix wrong battery indication issue in my case. And I expect the same workaround will fix the issue at your end.
