Creating an Image Gallery using WordPress create Image Gallery feature:

Step 1: Login to your WordPress dashboard and create a post or page or edit the page where you want to add an image gallery.

Step 2: On the post edit screen place the cursor and click on add media button on the top of the visual editor menu.

Step 3: Click on upload files to upload the new images or go to media library to select the old images.

Step 4: Now click on create gallery option from the left menu and select the images from media library and click on create a new gallery option at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5: Now this will redirect to gallery settings. Here you can add captions to each image, drag the image to change the order and edit the following options.

Link to: Select where you want to link the image from the list attachment page, media file or none.

Columns: The number of columns to display. Make sure to test before applying as this may get affected by your current theme. This option doesn’t apply for slide shows.

Random order: Check this box to change the images order randomly every time in your slideshow and gallery.

Size: Select the image size you want to display from the list thumbnail, medium, large or full size.

Type: Select the image type you want to display from the list thumbnail grid, tiled mosaic, square tiles, circles, tiled columns or slideshow.

Step 6: now click on insert gallery option at the bottom of the screen to insert the gallery into the post or page.

Now shortcode will be added to your post. Click on the preview option to check the gallery preview and publish the post.

Lazy loading delay: Set a delay time to load the images in milliseconds.

Automatic layout Row height: Determines the row height in pixels.

Automatic layout gallery theme: Set the theme for the gallery.

Image size: Select the image size you want to display in the gallery from the drop-down list default, thumbnail, medium, medium-large, large or random.

Image dimensions: adjust dimension based on the number of columns. This option doesn’t apply for full-size images.

Crop images: Check this box to crop the images to match the exact size defined in Image dimensions.

Step 5: Now click on the lightbox to change the lightbox settings. Here you can enable or disable lightbox, change the gallery theme, image size and caption position.

Step 6: Now click on publish button to create an image gallery.

Step 7: Now create a post or page or edit the page where you want to add an image gallery and click on add gallery.

Step 8: Now this will redirect to available galleries. Select the gallery and click on insert option to insert the image gallery to the post.

Now shortcode will be added to your post. Click on the preview to check the gallery preview and publish the post.
