Common Oracle BI Publisher Errors

This section I have posted the common BI Publisher errors that I have got during the report development. These are runtime properties so the server restart is not required.  The parameter I specified here are for demonstration purpose, the values may vary for each one and it depends on the report. 

A) Report data size exceeds the maximum limit (XXXX bytes). Stopped processing.

The scheduled report data size exceeds the default size server runtime property. The default size is 500MB. Increase the data size will solve this issue. No restart is required after setting this property

Solution:

1. Login into BI Publisher ( http://HOST:PORT/xmlpserver ) as Administrator

2. Click on the Administrator in the top right corner

3. Click Runtime Property under Runtime Configuration

4. Scroll down and increase the size of Maximum report data size for offline (scheduled) reports under Memory Guard

B) SQL query time exceeds the limit (600 sec). Stopped processing

The SQL Query in the data model takes more than the time specified in the server runtime properties. The default is 600 sec

Solution:

1. Login into BI Publisher ( http://HOST:PORT/xmlpserver ) as Administrator

2. Click on the Administrator in the top right corner

3. Click Runtime Property under Runtime Configuration

4. Increase the SQL Query Timeout

C) The report you are trying to run exceeds the data limit set for this server. Either re-run with parameters that reduce the data or schedule this report. Contact your Administrator if you have questions

The report you are running exceeds the data size that specified in the BI Publisher Runtime property. The default is 300MB. Increase the value will solve the issue

Solution:

1. Login into BI Publisher ( http://HOST:PORT/xmlpserver ) as Administrator

2. Click on the Administrator in the top right corner

3. Click Runtime Property under Runtime Configuration

4. Increase the Maximum report data size for Online reports
