How to Stay Fit And Lose Weight In Dubai.

WHY IS DUBAI FAT?

Have you gained weight since you moved to Dubai? I bet you did as many others expatriates. Can we break the fat mystery of Dubai? Let’s have a closer look to see why do these trends exist. I survey the most popular excuses why people who were active and fit has stopped exercising or gained weight when they came to Dubai.

1.       I am too busy to go to the gym.

2.       I am too tired after work to exercise.

3.       I eat out regularly and can’t follow the Healthy diet.

4.       I don’t have time to cook meals at home.

5.       It is too hot here so I just go by car everywhere and, I don’t move much.

Let me destroy all of these limiting factors in one minute.

First of all, if you decided to change yourself- you must change the way of thinking and break the old patterns. You will move nowhere with the same mentality and keep doing the same things day-to-day. Second, you need to understand that it will take time, willpower and dedication to become the better version of yourself. But believe me- the results are definitely worth it!

Let’s punch all of those excuses in the face and see how we can work on these limiting factors.

1.       I am too busy to go to the gym.

All of us have 24 hours per day regardless of the way we earn a living and how many family members we have. Just stop for a moment and look at your regular day: are you really that busy all the time?

Do you snooze your alarm all the time and as a result wake up too late and run to the work? Try to set your alarm 45 minutes earlier, get up from the bed and go for the morning jogging. Then have breakfast and see how much easier and energetic your day will be.

Go to your Instagram and check how many hours do you spend scrolling there per day? You will be surprised! Reduce time of staring at someone’s “perfect body” and use it for taking a Body Pump class at the TribeFit fitness studio to build your own.

2.       I am too tired after work to exercise.

You are tired all the time because your energy level is low. Low energy and fatigue can often be symptoms of a variety of bad habits and negative lifestyle factors (A.K.A. late nights, rubbish Food and zero activity). If this is the case, you need to work on your daily schedule to replace your unhealthy habits with healthier options, and increase the amount of energy you experience each day.

Give a try to morning activities: like sunrise yoga or cycling class at the Platform Studio. Find your active way how to start the day. So you can rest after your duty.

3.       I eat out regularly and can’t follow the healthy diet.

It’s all about choices, my Dear.

Does anyone push you to order fat burger instead of grilled chicken? There are always the healthy options (even in McDonald’s)! The thing is that we don’t want to see them and succumb to temptations like there is no (fatty)tomorrow. Balance your calories intake and outtake. Go to the gym and sweat  1000 kcal out If you are planning to go wild tonight.

4.       I don’t have time to cook meals at home.

These are tips for you, Metropolis resident.

  • Cook simple food which doesn’t take much time. You don’t need to surprise yourself with Michelin Star cooking skills make it simple: it’s just the food in the end of the day.
  • Make the food prep in advance for the next 3-5 days, split it at lunch boxes and forget about cooking for the upcoming days. Just open a fridge and pick up your food every day: healthy, with counted calories and ready to eat.
  • Order a meal prep service (Lowcalories.ae for example). Sign up for the monthly plan and let someone do the job for you. You will receive the fresh food every day which perfectly fits into your diet (no headache).

5.       It is too hot here so I just go by car everywhere and, I don’t move much.

  • Get to the car and drive it to the gym they have AC there inside.
  • If you have a dog, walk it twice a day for 30 minutes. If you don’t have- get one, it will motivate you to move!
  • Try the new Aquaspin cycling classes in Fairmont The Palm- it is refreshing and fun.

There is always the way to be healthy and active. Dubai fitness community is growing fast and giving you all the opportunities to stay fit 365 days a year. All the limits are in our heads and I hope these easy tips and tricks will help you to fight with them. Don’t wait till the next month, Sunday or salary- start today because this is the Day!
