Mushrif Park- A park with a spark of Happiness

Dubai is one of the most beautiful and opulent cities in the world, one of the reasons I love it so much. The city has known to be a centre for trade and business activities since long. All these have led to the growth of Dubai as one of the richest cities in the world and the resultant development. It is said to posses the world’s largest, highest and tallest. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest man-made structure in the world and it is located in this beautiful city. The Burj Al Arab, one of the most revered 7-star hotels in the world, can be found in the famous city of Dubai. Wherever you would like around in the city, you would find something or the other that has been built with much grace. This is why it attracts a large number of tourists throughout the year.

One of the most beautiful places to spend a beautiful day in Dubai could be the Mushrif Park. The park is located on Al Khawaneej Street in Mirdif, Dubai. It is kept open every day of the week from 8 in the morning to at least 10 in the night. That is why it is kept open upto 10 in the night from Sundays to Wednesdays, and on Thursdays to Saturdays or even on the holidays, it is kept open upto about 11 in the night. However, on Wednesdays, only women and children are allowed to enter the park. I have visited the park a lot of times, but it had never felt as much good as it had when I visited it for the first time. I had heard of the park since long, and I had always been caught up in some work or the other.

The Mushrif Park is quite big, about 5.25 square kilometres or 1300 acres. It is actually big enough for anyone to drive through it. That is why one of my friends brought us along in his car. It is about 15 km from the city centre of Dubai located in the Deria within the Mushrif area, the eastern part of the city, near the suburb of Khawaneej. It costs about Dhs. 10 for every car and about Dhs. 3 for every individual. There are lots of games and rides available in the park, all of which cost about Dhs. 2. The swimming pool costs Dhs. 5 for the children and Dhs. 10 for the adults. It was developed in 1980 by the Dubai municipality but was hugely expanded in 1989 and is still maintained by them.

The thing I liked about the park is how the management has created such a good example of natural elements for the display in the park. The area was covered with forests prior to the establishment of the park. The park attracts a lot of tourists and people like me, who love the scenic beauty of nature. It offers a serene beauty to those who visit the area. Not only that, it also has facilities for modern entertainment. There are electronic entertainment games, child games, barbecue areas, bicycle and walking tracks, restaurants and prayer rooms and many other facilities.

Though we had come to the park with a lot of time in hand, we figured that we could not possibly visit every recreational facility. We first started out with the international village, which is designed to represent the architecture of different societies. The houses have different designs and touring around the place will not only feel good but also depart a lot of relevant information. We did spend a lot of time, lurking through the various houses from different societies before we decided to take our leave. We even tried some kiddish games to pass a little time. They were more enjoyable than we initially thought they would be.

We also took ourselves to the Green Area. The municipality has been investing a lot of energy in making the park look more and more beautiful by planting trees. It is adding more and more trees to expand the green zone and give the park a more natural look. This surely makes the park look cooler. There are a lot of rules that are to be followed in the park and I think they are really important to maintain the vigilance in the park. All of these are directed to maintain safety and the inherent beauty of the park. We had no intention of bringing around a picnic party, though there were spots available for the same. We ended the tour with a bumpy camel ride. The journey was really amazing and it was a day to look back to.

The Mushrif Park is a really amazing place to spend the day and everyone should have their chances.
