We have had some wood Chip dropped off near the top gate. There are two piles – the left one is mainly willow ( hardwood ) and the pile on the right is a mix of soft and hard woods with a little conifer mixed in.

The willow is perfect for mulching under fruit bushes and trees and or making paths.
The mixed chip is good for paths and for mulching ericaceous plants.

Both can also be used by new tenants as a mulch to cover cardboard, to keep your newly uncovered beds weed free while you deal with the rest of the plot.

There will be more being delivered in the next couple of days. If you are on the bottom end of the allotments and want some, send a message via the contact form asap and we may be able to arrange for a big bag to be dropped off closer to your plot.
