This is arguably one of the saddest stories out there where a bus driver who is undergoing chemotherapy has been caught for drinking on her job. However, her defence was that the chemotherapy had numbed her sense of taste and smell, and she did not know that it was alcoholic.  

According to the New York Post, a Long Island School Bus Driver, Amal Hanna, will avoid charges after being caught drinking what she believed was a non-alcoholic beverage while driving students. Hanna, who is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and cannot taste alcoholic drinks, inadvertently grabbed a White Claw thinking it was a regular seltzer. 

Following that, police accepted her explanation and chose not to charge her. However, she was dismissed from her 15-year job, leaving her uncertain about her financial stability during chemotherapy. The incident raised concerns about the White Claw’s labelling, which only displays its alcoholic content in small print. Hanna was described as a kind, sweet, and caring driver by parents and students.

X users are siding Amal Hanna stating that it was not her fault that she was confused with the drink. Furthermore, users state that our society is rather cruel, making an elderly woman who is battling cancer work. Now that she lost her source of income, she needs to find an alternative method to pay for her treatment and living expenses. 

People really do miss that if you don't normally consume alcohol, you may not know ANY of the 'well of course this had alcohol in it' signs and miss them if it looks enough like a nonalcoholic beverage you're used to in a context you aren't used to finding alcohol.

In addition to this, users informed others that when tasting White Claw, they were surprised to find out it has alcohol content. To most, they claim that it tastes exactly like flavoured soda water. Furthermore, there are a number of signs that a drink does have alcohol content in it, but for those who are not regular drinkers, they might miss it with this specific beverage.

The sad reality is, many others state that their elderly grandparents who are over 70-years-old are forced to work in order to pay for their medical treatments. Others joke that America is always focusing on its wars so that Hamas, the organisation that is controlling Gaza will know the sole reason why Americans do not get free healthcare. That loosely translates to America focusing more on its army rather than its own people.
