Imran Khan was in Rawalpindi when the FIR was lodged against him on Sunday for Saturday’s speech. (AP) After Imran Kan was arrested for his remarks at the Islamabad rally, party workers and supporters gathered at Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence Sunday night. Party workers began trending “Imran Kan hamari red” on social media warning that Imran Khan would be arrested and Islamabad will fall to the workers.

“If imran khan is arrested by the imported govt we will take over Islamabad and my message to police is that don’t be part of this political war anymore otherwise will deal u as pdm workers not police anymore let pti and pdm leadership and workers fight and decide once and for all,” party leader Ali Amin Gandapu tweeted.

1. Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, was told by Islamabad police that Imran Khan had been arrested and taken to police station.

2. Under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, Imran Khan was charged with terrorizing and threatening top police officers. The FIR stated that Imran had “terrorised, threatened and attacked top police officers and a respected female addition sessions judge” in his address.

3. Pakistan’s media watchdog has banned Imran Khan’s Sunday speech from being broadcast live. Pemra stated, “It has been observed, that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Mr Imran Khan is constantly alleging state institutions by levelling false allegations and spreading hate speech via his provocative remarks against state officers and institutions which is prejudicial the maintenance of law, order, and is likely to disturb public tranquility and peace.”

4. YouTube temporarily blocked in Pakistan by multiple internet providers during Imran Khan’s speech in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

5. “After Pemra prevented live transmission of Pindi jalsa speech via TV channels, Imported Govt blocked YouTube half-way through my speech. This only shows the desperation displayed by those who, for their own self-interest, want to push Pakistan towards economic and political chaos,” Imran Khan said.

6. Shah Mahmood Qureshi, vice-chairman of the party, said Sunday night that party activists were asked to be prepared and wait for their call for protest in the event of Imran’s arrest.

7. Reports claimed that police had closed the roads leading to Bani Gala residence as party workers took to streets at night. According to ARY News, police installed barbed wire along with heavy contingents from the Frontier Corps (FC), in order to close the roads. Street lights at Imran Khan Chowk were also turned off.

8. Shireen Mazari, the leader of PTI, announced Monday that Farooqui Jawel, a journalist was, had been taken into custody.

9. Sunday’s statement by Imran Khan stated that he began the journey to attain’real freedom’ in Pakistan.

10. Some reports say that Imran Khan didn’t return home from the meeting in Rawalpindi. He stayed in Rawalpindi at an undisclosed place. Dawn was however told by Fawad Chhadhry from PTI that Imran Khan has returned to his residence.
