VIDEO: Hyundai Kona Electric walk around

The annual Geneva Motorshow is in full swing and the number of Electric cars on display is growing each year. The latest edition is the Hyundai Kona Electric.

The new Kona Electric combines the two fastest growing automotive trends – electrification and a SUV body style and carries the same distinctive design and functionality of the regular Kona.

Hyundai describes the fully-electric Kona as “reflecting the individual lifestyle of modern customers who benefit from great fun-to-drive and the low environmental impact of a fully-electric car”

Externally the electric derivative is distinguished by a clean and modern grille with integrated charging cover giving access to the CCS charging socket.  Additionally the EV sits 15mm higher than then standard sibling providing added presence on the road.

The completely new platform of the Kona enables a space-saving integration of the battery packs without compromising the roominess. Available in two different powertrains with a long-range battery version offering a driving range of up to 292 miles from a 64kwh battery.

The standard EV version is equipped with a 39.2kwh battery offering a range of upto 186 miles.

Below, Europe’s foremost car reviewing team Autogefuhl takes us on a tour of the Kona Electric at the Geneva Motorshow.
