Another one got away?

Is this another case where our country's prosecutors has bungled a case, specifically one on graft?

From NSTOnline:

A former acting director of the publicity unit of the Land and Co-operatives Development Ministry was acquitted yesterday on five counts of corruption.
Mohamad Mohd Yusof, 65, was charged with five counts of allegedly abusing his position to get gratification of a total of RM46,117.50 in choosing Express Equity Sdn Bhd to provide food and drinks for a Felda motivational course in Sungai Udang, Malacca.

The offence was allegedly committed at Wisma Tanah, Jalan Semarak between October and November 2000.

Sessions Court judge Zamri Ibrahim said the prosecution’s failure to call former minister Tan Sri Kasitah Gaddam, a vital witness, to verify whether the course was ordered by the ministry had proven detrimental to their case.

He said the documents were important to determine whether a committee had been formed to oversee the organisation of such courses for Felda settlers.
Zamri said the prosecution had failed to present a prima facie case.
Or is this a case of thinking that the Malaysian public has short term memory and must have forgotten about cases like this one if left unmentioned long enough?
