I have so many thoughts regarding politics in the United States that I decided to finally create this blog. I didn't create it in order to vent my personal beliefs, although I'm quite positive that I won't be able to help myself. The real intent is to try to propagate a rational discussion of ideas.

What I find truly disturbing is how we treat people who have opposing views from our own. The "I'm right and your wrong so you need not even speak because I won't listen," syndrome. You see examples everyday on TV, on the internet and on the radio. People who have an opinion other than their own automatically makes the other person an idiot, moron, fascist, pinko or any other number of derogatory names that we throw around and the conversation quickly becomes a shouting match to see who can spew more catch phrases louder than the other. My point is, if we are not open to actually listening to other ideas how can we thoughtfully defend our own? We should be able to talk about a political issue and end the conversion without hating the person with an opposing view.
