The charts above are from the Monmouth University Poll -- done between June 9th and 14th of a national sample of 810 adults, with a 3.5 point margin of error.

In many states across the nation, Republican legislatures have been passing laws to restrict Voting. They think it will help them to make voting harder for Americans. But that goes against what most Americans want.

About 50% say voting by mail should be made Easier, while only 39% want it made harder to do. And 71% say early voting should be made easier, while only 16% say it should be made harder. 

Democrats in the Senate tried to pass a voting rights bill yesterday -- a bill that would have made Voting Easier for all citizens. The bill was blocked by Republicans (who don't want to debate or vote on the bill).

That also goes against what the public wants. About 69% say there should be national guidelines making voting by mail and early voting easier to do.

There is only one aspect of voting that Republicans have been able to get the public to support -- requirement to show an ID before being allowed to vote.
