As a result of the invention of the contraceptives, and its common use, a Mentality arises, called to be – Contraceptive Mentality.  By its very term it connotes a means that prohibits or contradicts contraception. (even though that modern and contemporary discoveries attest that it is abortive and prevents the implantation of the zygote or the fertilized ovum, into the uterus in as much as the pill dries up and weakens the its lining and therefore makes it almost impossible for that zygote to survive).

Contraceptive mentality is precisely this state of the mind not to conceive but at the same time enjoy the Pleasure of human sexual intimacy which is by natural law and could be discovered by reasoning, is geared towards procreation.  It is not surprising that those who claim to study natural law, could discover that the end result, as per natural design, of marital union is no other that procreation.  Love and life are considered and is taught to be inseparable. Marital union should promote love and responsibility towards the possibility of life.  Contraception wants to eliminate this possibility.

Its like eating.  The Purpose of the digestive system is nourishment and to eat has that final purpose – self preservation. The designer of nature however, makes it a point to place pleasure in eating.  Here is the wisdom of the Designer. If there is no amount of pleasure is attained in eating, then perhaps nobody would like to eat since could become a burden and therefore nourishment which is very important for survival, could be jeopardized.

In the same way though not exactly, the Designer, placed pleasure in the Sexual Union.  But it is clear that the ultimate purpose, like in eating, is preservation.  In the latter case, it is the preservation of the species.  You could imagine if there is not pleasure in the sexual union then perhaps the survival of the human race is at stake.

To give attention only to the pleasure in eating is rightly called gluttony.  It is something evil and is not beneficial to the individual, since by a perversion of intention, one would rather attain the pleasure for pleasure’s sake neglecting the real ultimate purpose which is self preservation. 

In RH bill, it has been discussed and well enough, that it is not to solve the population problem.  Population control is said to be not the question.  I would be easy to think about the flaws of this argument but be it as it may.  The fact is what Rh bill would create, maybe unintentionally, is a contraceptive mentality, which separates the sexual union from procreation and understandably would prefer more the pleasure.  Procreation was relegated behind.

It is therefore easy to see, that like gluttony, contraceptive mentality is a deviation from the original purpose of nature and as such it will have its long term bad effects.  Those who know and see the purpose of sexual union could therefore be rightly called anti RH Bill.
