A Mitigation package for a DUI, or for a DUI that you want to get reduced to something that’s not a DUI, will consist of some of the following, going to AA classes, going to inpatient treatment, or intensive outpatient treatment prior to any plea negotiation or prior to any sentencing hearing. You want to let the prosecutor and the judge know that if you do have an alcohol problem that it’s under control and you’re taking the necessary steps to control drinking, or you may want to use the mitigation package in order to get a lesser offense that’s not a DUI.
