The Supreme Court's standing with the American people is much higher than it should be:
The Supreme Court’s standing with the American public has dipped over the past year, as the high court and its makeup have taken on greater prominence in fractious political debates.
Sixty percent of Americans approve of the job the court is doing, according to a poll released Wednesday by Marquette University Law School. That’s down 6 points from a similar survey conducted in September 2020 just days before the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
First of all, the Supreme Court has been stacked with radical, conservative Catholics. Fully six members, all of them in the Conservative voting bloc, are from the same general part of the political spectrum. This is not by accident. Millions of dollars have been spent making it that way.
Second, they're dedicated to the proposition that African-Americans should not have the right to vote and women should not have the right to control their bodies. Everything has been leading up to this moment, and that's also because of the impact dark money spending has had on stacking the court with people who think exactly alike.
Third, we need to remember that this effort began well before Trump stole the American presidency and was empowered to rubber stamp the stacking of the Supreme Court.
What's on the horizon is a reckoning with voting rights and abortion rights. The Roberts Court is going to continue attacking freedom in all forms. It is a court dedicated to the proposition that corporate rights are above all other considerations and whatever keeps the evangelical rubes happy in their dying red state enclaves happy is all that matters. This is why we need to support the Biden Administration and vote in droves to overcome GOP voter suppression, Gerrymandering, and the outright theft of elections. All of that is coming in the next year and a half. All of that threatens the progress that has been made. And I just don't think enough people understand how close they are to losing everything. This country goes on autopilot and it expects freedom to always be there. Right now, freedom is being mugged in plain sight and not enough people are pissed about it.
