GPC Drills 11 Wells in  Eastern, Western Deserts in Q3 2020/21

The General Petroleum Company (GPC) has drilled three exploratory wells and eight developmental wells in the Eastern and Western Deserts during Q3 2020/21 and at a cost of about $16 million and a 100% success rate, Al-Mal reported.

The company’s total investments amounted to $50 million during the quarter.

The company put the HH 83/2 offshore discovery to work in record time with a production amounting to about 3,500 barrels per day (bbl/d). The company will continue the project by constructing a 13 kilometers (km) Pipeline with a 6-inch diameter.

This comes in parallel as GPC almost completed the construction of the 170 km shipping pipeline in the Abu Sennan reaching Al-Hamra port at a cost of approximately $56 million. The pipeline aims to serve all sister companies in the Western Desert.

GPC also plans to construct a Natural Gas pipeline to begin producing from the Northwest Bahar field in the Eastern Desert valued at about $10 million. Production is estimated at around 15 million cubic feet of natural gas (mmcf).
