The former treasurer of the Eastern Edinburgh Constituency Labour Party has pleaded guilty to embezzlement of more than £4,600 from the party's funds. Karen Rennie was caught out after she failed to produce accounts several times in 2014 and the police were called in. The Unite union official was suspended by the Labour Party pending an investigation into the cheque fraud.
