Lisa Walsh and Kevin Hannan join the Hudson City Democratic Committee, Rob Bujan becomes Vice Chair.
The Hcdc welcomed two new members at their last meeting on November 10th. Lisa Walsh and Kevin Hannan were part of the Tiffany for Mayor Leadership team during the 2015 election cycle. They also effectively coordinated with the Hudson City Democratic Committee (HCDC). Rob Bujan, another member of the Tiffany for Mayor campaign, joined the HCDC in September and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and effectiveness in his first few months.
“It’s been great to work with Lisa, Kevin, and Rob,” says Michael Chameides Chair of the HCDC. “Adding Lisa and Kevin to the Committee and having Rob as First Vice Chair will build on our momentum. We are looking forward to their continuing contributions to Hudson and the Democratic Party. They have all been instrumental in Hudson Forward, working outside of the government structure to identify needed changes and document the strengths that Hudson already has in place."
“This is an exciting time for Hudson," says Walsh. "Citizens have called for change and I see a strong unified HCDC as a key element in answering that call. I hope to help cultivate relationships within the committee and the City to build trust and provide a solid foundation for growth through community outreach.”
HCDC members are elected biannually during the September Primary - there are two members for each of the six election districts. The HCDC also elected five officers at the organizational meeting following the Primary. (Officers do not need to be one of the twelve election district representatives). Officers Bujan and Chameides vacated their Election District seats in order to make room for Walsh and Hannan. As per the HCDC By-Laws, vacancies are filled by a Committee vote. There is an additional vacant seat available and the committee is actively searching for new members to fill out the slate. There are also opportunities to volunteer on several committees and new community outreach activities.
