Hudson Dems Gather Support for Congressional Candidates

Two progressive Democrats are vying for the Democratic Nomination of the NY-19 Congressional District. Democrats will decide between Will Yandik and Zephyr Teachout on a June 28 Primary.

But before the Primary, the candidates have to get on the ballot and that requires 1,250 petition signatures. To be on the safe side, candidates typically seek to double or triple that number.

Members of the Hudson City Democrats are supporting the process and carrying petitions for both candidates. If you are a registered Democrat in Columbia County, make sure you sign one of these. You can only sign one petition per office - so don’t sign both Yandik and Teachout petitions. Your second signing is likely to be disqualified. Also note that signing a petition is not the same as voting for a candidate. You can always sign one petition and then vote for another.

To sign a Yandik petition, contact Michael Chameides at 518.755.9822 or [email protected].

To sign a Teachout petition, contact Tiffany Garriga at 518.965.3372 or [email protected].
