House Democrats Reissue Subpoena for Trump Financial Records


The House Oversight Committee first Issued its Subpoena to Trump's Accoint Firm, Mazars USA, for Eight years of Trump's Financial Records in April 2019. But Trump swiftly Sued to Shield his Personal Information from Democrats and ultimately took his Battle with the Oversight Panel and Two others seeking similar Information Rewuest from New York to the Supreme Court.

Now that the Supreme Court has Rejected Trump's latest Request, Mazars has turned over His Tax and Business Records to the New York Attorney General and the Manhattan District Attorney.

Now House Democrats have Reissued their Subpoena to Mazars for a Trove of his Financial Records, Lawyers for the House Revealed in a Court Filing Tuesday.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee is seeking the Information from Trump, the Trump Organization, and other Entities affiliated with Trump from 2011 through 2018.

Democrats told the Federal District Court, in the District of Columbia, that the Subpoena to Mazars was Reissued February 25th.

The House Panel said it needs Trump's Financial Records to help inform Legislative Action to address Ethics Issues related to Trump's Unprecedented Conflicts of Interest.

"The committee's need for this information — in order to verify key facts and tailor legislative reforms to be as effective and efficient as possible — remains just as compelling now as it was when the committee first issued its subpoena, and the committee's legislative efforts remain just as critical to the American people as they were before President Trump vacated the White House on January 20, 2021," Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY, 12th District), my Representstive, told Members in a Memorandum before Reissuing its demand to Mazars.

The Biden Administration said that it still needs More time to determine how it Plans to handle House Democrats' Request for Trump's Tax Returns. The Administration Requested that the Parties in the Lawsuit over House Democrats' Request File another Status Report on April 2nd. DOJ Lawyers said they would Not Object to Judge Trevor McFadden, a Federal District Court Judge in Washington, D.C., Appointed by Trump, Extending his Order through April 2nd that Fequires Treasury to give Trump's Personal Lawyers 72 hours Notice before Providing Trump's tax Returns to the House Ways and Means Committee.
