IA 2021 Special Election

Iowa's Governor, Kim Reynolds (R), has announced the Date for a Special Election to fill the Iowa Senate District 41 Seat, which will soon be Vacant.

This comes as State Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) turns in her Resignation, so she can be sworn into Congress on Jan. 3rd, 2021, for Iowa's Second Congressional District.

The Race still faces a Review by the U.S. House, after a Challenge was filed by Candidate Rita Hart (D).

It remains Unclear if Mariannette Miller-Meeks will keep that Seat for the entire Two-year Term, as Hart continues to Contest her Six-Vote Loss, claiming Not All Legal Ballots were properly Counted.

The House will Seat Her until a Final Decision by the Court determines the winner.

If needed, a Special Election will be held on January 26th, 2021.

Reynolds says this Update makes the Resignation for Miller-Meeks Official on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021.
