The Announcement comes as Early voting Begins on Monday, October 5th.

According to Iowa Secretary of State, Paul Pate, the New Form was Approved by the Voter Registration Commission on, Friday Oct. 2nd. Pate also said the Old Form is still Valid.

In August, Governor Kim Reynolds, Issued an Executive Order Automatically Restoring Voting Rights for Iowans who have Completed their Sentence, with an Exception for Homicide or Related Crimes.

Previously, Iowans Convicted of Felony were Required to Request their Rights be Restored by the Governor.

“I agree with Governor Reynolds that Iowans who have served their time deserve a second chance and should be able to make their voices heard by voting. These resources will help Iowans with felony convictions participate in the process,” Secretary Pate said.

Pate's Office also Launched a New Website called RestoreYourVote.Iowa.gov, including an FAQ Section, Links to the Voter Registration Portal. and more.
