Democrats Narrowly Beat Republicans in Second Night Convention TV Audience


A Total of 18 Million People watched the Second Night of the mostly Virtual Republican National Convention (RNC), according to early Nielsen Media Research, slightly fewer than the 18.2 Million Viewers who watched the Second Night of the Democratic National Convention across the Same Number of Networks.

The 18 Million RNC Number reflects the Audience across Six TV Networks between 10 p.m. EDT and 11 p.m. EDT. It does Not include Online and Streaming Viewers.

Fox News had the Biggest TV Audience for both Nights of this week’s Convention.

The First Night of the Republican National Convention (RNC) attracted nearly 3 Million Fewer Viewers than the Opening of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), according to Numbers by Nielsen.

About 17 Million Viewers tuned in to the GOP Convention’s First Night, on Monday August 24th, compared with 19.7 Million Viewers on the First Night of the Democrats’ Event a Week prior.
