NYC June 23rd Voting Adventures

The COVID-19 Pandemic has thrown a monkey wrench into the Voting Process, but there were plenty of more Traditional New York City Election Day Snafus.

At Multiple Polling Sites:

- Voters were given only Part of the Ballot, receiving a Presidential Primary but Not Local Races, or vice versa.

- A Number of Poll Site Locations were Changed at the Last Minute.

- Some Sites Failed to Open on Time, because Poll Workers were Not able to get to Site for their 5 a.m. Start, with Overnight Subway Shutdowns for Sanitizing the Cars.

- Voters Reported being Turned-Away because of Wi-Fi Outages.

“Everybody should be upset, especially because a lot of the workers are elderly,” said Ebony Charles, who Voted at the Flatbush, Brooklyn, Site after Requesting but Failing to Receive an Absentee Ballot. “It’s either incompetence, corruption or both.”
