Judge Jed Rakoff Ordered ICE to Stop making such Arrests, Ruling the Agency was Violating State’s Rights.

ICE made 173 Arrests at New York Courthouses last year, according to Immigration Advocates.

In 2016, before President Trump took Office, ICE made only 28 Courthouse Arrests.

The Practice Disrupted Proceedings, Spooked Immigrants who opted Not to show up to Court and made People less Trusting of Law Enforcement, Critics said.

State Attorney General, Letitia James, and Brooklyn District Attorney, Eric Gonzalez, filed a Suit last year Challenging the ICE Tactic.
