2020 Senate Race Review


The 2020 U.S. Senate Elections takes place on November 3rd, 2020.

The U.S. Senate Elections will take place in:

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

A Total of 33 of the 100 Seats are up for Regular Election. Special Elections will also occur to fill Vacancies in the 116th Congress, including a 2020 Election in Arizona for the U.S. Senate Seat that John McCain (R) won in 2016.

Those Elected to the U.S. Senate in the 33 Regular Elections on November 3rd, 2020, will begin their Six-year Terms on January 3rd, 2021.

Partisan Breakdown after 2018 Elections:

Democratic Party - 45 Seats
Republican Party - 53 Seats
Independent - 2 Seats, that Caucus with Democrats
