NYC WFP's Illegal Mayoral Candidates

It is up to the Highest Court in New York, the State's Court of Appeals, to decide if New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio can be on the Ballot as the Mayoral Candidate of the Working Families Party (WFP).

The Political Party, which has Nominated the Incumbent Mayor along with Public Advocate Tish James and Controller Scott Stinger, ignored the very Clear Legal Requirements to do so.

Then, the New York City’s Board of Elections looked the other way. The Three Democrats will still be on the Democratic line, provided they Win their Primaries.

The WFP isn’t the only Violator. The tiny Reform Party, which Plans to run Sal Albanese for Mayor and Cross-Endorsed the GOP Challengers for Public Advocate and Controller, also Broke Party Rules.

The State Law Mandates all Parties must have a County Committee in each of the City’s Five Boroughs Jointly Award a Ballot Line to a Non-Member.

The Dems do it. So does the GOP. So does the Conservative Party. Not WFP and Reform.

The High Judges would be Rectifying a Blunder by Lower Courts that Dismissed the Case because the WFP State Executive Board wasn’t Served with Legal Papers.

That’s nuts; the Law Excludes the State Board from any Involvement in Citywide Elections which has its own Election Laws for City Elections.

Come on, your Honors. Enforce the Rules.
