When referring to something as "washed," the connotation is typically negative. Urban Dictionary defines "washed" as "a term for a general feeling of exhaustion, fatigue, and lack of motivation." Thankfully, Jordan Brand's most recent Air Jordan 1 colourway, "Washed Black," does not adhere to this depressing definition. The "Washed Black" is the type of wash that is fresh, clean, and pristine, featuring a largely subdued colour scheme with some compelling material adjustments.

For the uninitiated, this Air Jordan 1 Washed Black is a smoky, suede-supported style which is Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker. These "Washed Black" sneaker was revealed to feature a "Black/Fire Red/Light Smoke Grey/Sail" colour scheme with suede overlays replacing the AJ1's standard leather overlays, two-tone collars and a vibrant accent on the tongue tag.

Suede renditions of Michael Jordan's first signature sneaker are not necessarily a new phenomenon, with models such as the "Stage Haze" and "Light Smoke Grey" offering up suede stylings in the past, but they're still rare and add a touch of Nike SB flair to the beloved model.

It has been reported that the Air Jordan 1 "Washed Black" will be available for purchase on June 10, however, neither Nike nor Jordan Brand has officially verified this date of arrival. If and when it does become available, it will come with a price tag of US$180 (RM799). This is certainly a pair of washed sneakers that I would love to put on.
