Scorn: The New Arlesian of Video Games?

The development of a video game is a long, expensive and complicated process. If creating a game required only two to 10 people in the 1980s and 90s, today a development team can bring together more than 200 people. With budgets often rivalling Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and games taking three to five years to release, it's no wonder these are often delayed.

Scorn: The New Arlesian of Video Games?

However, Scorn is on the way to becoming a textbook case comparable to Duke Nukem: Forever. For those who don't know, when we talk about Arlesian in video games, we are talking about a title that has been waiting for several years to be postponed many times. Duke Nukem is the best-known example of this as the game was announced for release in 1996 and it was pushed back, cancelled, put back on track and finally released in 2011.

Scorn seems to be following the same trajectory and we can legitimately wonder if the title will ever be released as announced for so many years? In any case, before it is available, you will have plenty of time to play a few games of Top Online Casino Malaysia.

Why so much waiting around the game?

First of all, you have to understand what Scorn is and it is not easy. Indeed, the developers have decided to remain cryptic about the game so that the players have surprised at the time of its launch. Nevertheless, we know thanks to the various trailers that have come out that it is a horrific FPS that takes up the aesthetics of the artist H.R. Giger.

Who is H.R. Giger? Hans Ruedi Giger was a Swiss visual artist, best known for his work on Ridley Scott's film Alien. It was he who invented the creatures of the film, the xenomorph and the face hugger. However, this is not the sum of his work, since Giger has unveiled his nightmarish universe through numerous works, all linked together by a mixture of the mechanical and the organic.

It is precisely these universes, true representations of hell, that the developers have recreated for their game. Initially unveiled in 2016, Scorn immediately caught the attention of many fans in need of horror games worthy of the name. The title of EBB Software promises to tell us its story in a 100% visual way since the character does not speak and the exploration to learn more will be the heart of the game.

A Release Scheduled for October 2022?

Scorn has had many delays and it has been overdue, to say the least. However, Microsoft has entered the dance to help the project see the light of day and they intend to release the game on their Game Pass. The game would therefore be ready to be played, if we believe the October 2022 release date, but we must remain wary and not hope too much, because Scorn has already let us down in the past.

In the event that the game releases well this year, hopefully, it won't be a wet squib like Agony was.
