The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Episode 5 Recap – why does Ju-seok accept an evil spirit?

3.5

Summary

Ju-seok’s future villainy is set in motion by a strong installment.

We recap the Netflix K-Drama series The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Episode 5, which contains significant spoilers.

The start of Ju-seok’s aggressive spin has been initiated before the season halfway point. But it’s unclear if he’ll truly commit to swearing allegiance to Pil-gwang (Kang Ki-young), as the Counters could still persuade the former firefighter that individuals who appear to be helping are actually simply a burden.

The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

How is Ju-seok s life changing?

So Mun is unable to reach Ju-seok, who has made up his mind that he will never forgive those responsible for his wife’s death, and Pil-gwang develops a curious interest in the former firefighter. The villain visits Ju-seok’s mother’s house to look around and then decides to help a man who was formerly known for being a model citizen bring out his evil spirit talents.

We observe that life is different today for the present prisoner as Mo-tak informs the Counters that he had a suspicion Ju-seoknow was dangerous, and So Mun muses on the former firefighter’s heroic nature during a heartfelt talk with his grandma.

Since Ju-seok is still struggling with the evil spirit occupying his mind, Pil-gwang’s visit to his prison to talk about the truth leaves him with more questions than answers.

What information do Gelly and the Counters uncover?

Before the Counter has a chance to read her friend’s thinking, Ha-na and Do-hwi uncomfortably catch up in the park. She learns there that the pianist frequently visited the hospital while she was unconscious in order to miss her awakening.

The Counters track down Gelly, who is looking for the money her gang is owed for the Baekdu Planning & Construction scam, in an abandoned cold storage.

However, the one-eyed bad guy escapes by exposing gas pipes that her enemies can’t run through because the heroes are unable to effectively defeat her. However, Gelly still departs without any cash.

The Counters are aware that their mission is to uncover evidence that Pil-gwang and his associates were responsible for this plot so that they can be apprehended and imprisoned. On the other side, Gelly can inform her leader that Jeok-bong has the ability to detect the presence of evil spirits.

What does Pil-gwang do to try and bring out Ju-seok s evil spirit?

Ha-na and Do-hwi have fun in an arcade as Mo-tak starts digging more into the Baekdu case. A relieved Mae-ok tells Jeok-bong in the background that this is the genuine Counter, who is typically reticent.

Mo-tak and So Mun attempt to locate proof that money has been laundered for the Baekdu case inside a laundromat but are unsuccessful (or are unable to catch a fleeing possible offender).

In a different scene, Pil-gwang frees Ju-seok from his cell, taking advantage of the former firefighter’s desire to learn the truth about the passing of his wife by pressuring him to embrace the taunting demonic spirit.

The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Episode 5 Ending Explained

Ju-seok now accepts the wicked spirit he possesses for the purpose of the aforementioned purported truth, beats his jail guards to a pulp with newfound ferocity, and then sails through to freedom. He encounters a dumbfounded So Mun there, and the two lock eyes as the show comes to a close.
