We review the 2023 Hulu documentary series RapCaviar Presents Season 1, released on March 30, 2023.

Executive producers Karam Gill and Steve Rivo‘s documentary series Rapcaviar Presents is available on Hulu. The six-part documentary uses the lives of hip-hop musicians to explore the most important issues of the day.

Each episode of RapCaviar Presents addresses a problem affecting hip-hop artists and society and is based on the 2015 Spotify playlist. Famous musicians like Tyler, the Creator, Roddy Ricch, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Post Malone, and Megan Thee Stallion contribute stories to the series.

RapCaviar Presents Season 1 Review

RapCaviar Presents covers today’s generation of musicians as they create music that has a huge impact on millions of people while tackling current topics, reshaping their culture, and challenging social standards.

Tyler, the Creator, who has pushed the boundaries of hip-hop and questioned traditional ideas of masculinity, introduces the series. He wants to alter people’s perceptions of what rap should be by sharing his narrative and songs.

The difficulties for women to break into the genre is carefully addressed in the series. The hip-hop lady trio City Girls discusses their experiences with misogyny. They promote female empowerment with their humorous attitudes and entertaining personalities.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion talks about how her collaboration with Cardi B, WAP, encouraged women to embrace their sexuality by allowing them to talk freely and honestly about their bodies. They still endure criticism from the public, along with other female hip-hop artists.

Black women in rap are subjected to a lot, as evidenced by the horrifying criticism Coi Leray received for her size on social media.

Is RapCaviar Presents Season 1 good?
