How It Started?

TextNow was started in 2009 by two college students who wanted to save money on their phone bills. Since then, the company has been giving customers free phone service technology.

There could be a number of reasons why you can’t get into your TextNow account.

Make sure that your credentials are valid.

The first and most obvious thing to check is whether you are using the right username/email address and password. TextNow lets you log in with either your username (which you choose when you sign up) or the email address you used to create the account, along with the password you made. To log in, all of these must be correct.

TextNow has a link called “Forgot?” that you can use if you can’t remember your username or password. Enter the email address associated with your account, and we’ll send you a link to reset your password. By the way, for safety reasons, that link will only work for about an hour. Also, if you don’t see the email right away, check the spam folders in your email program, as it’s often put there by mistake.

The app you’re using is an old one.

If you are using an older version, it might not connect to our servers correctly. The fix is easy, though: Try again after updating your app in the Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS) to the latest version.

Please keep in mind that TextNow is only for iPhone users with iOS 14 or higher. TextNow versions made after Android 7 don’t work with versions of Android before Android 7. Check the instructions that came with your phone to find out how to update the Android or iOS operating system.

You have a VPN.

A Virtual Private Network, or VPN, lets you connect to another network over the Internet in a safe way. A VPN cannot be used with TextNow. You won’t be able to sign in to the TextNow app if you are using a VPN. Please turn off the VPN and try to log in again.

Your account is no longer working.

If you tried to log in but got a message saying you broke TextNow’s rules, your account has probably been disabled. Don’t worry, though. You might be able to get your account back depending on how bad the violation was and if you’ve been banned before for breaking the rules.
